Leap Nutrition Pure Carob Honey

Bee Colonies

We take immense pride in sustainably cultivating honey bee colonies in their natural habitat. Nestled amidst the serene rural surroundings of Mtahleb, located on the scenic Western Coast of Malta, our apiary provides a sanctuary for our colonies of Apis mellifera. Cultivated using modern beekeeping techniques, we place the utmost priority on maintaining the health and well-being of our bee populations.

Honey Making Process

The process starts by the worker bees flying from one flower to the other to collect nectar. Once the bee’s stomach has reached the full capacity, it returns to the hive where the nectar is passed from one bee to the other to further break down the sugars and reduce water content.

The nectar becomes honey, the honeybees will store it in the wax cells inside the honeycomb. Cells are filled with ripened honey, worker bees seal them with a beeswax cap to protect the honey from moisture and contaminants.

Extraction

Now that the honey is ready, our dedicated beekeepers remove the extra honey, while keeping the necessary honey for the colonies to feed on in their hives. The beeswax caps are remove, and the frames are place in an centrifuge to extract honey from the cells.

Filtering and Bottling

The honey is then filter from debris and allow to settle for two to four weeks. The honey is then bottle, Labelle and ready for you to indulge in!
